I am a talented, self-taught portrait artist based in Leicester and I hand-draw graphite & colour portraits from photographs. I can recreate lively faces to turn your memories into cherished art. I also draw pet portraits in pencil or colour. To commission a portrait, just send me a photograph, and I'll do the rest.
With every portrait, I offer a personal consultation, where you can help to create and personalise your pencil portrait (if you wish to). I will contact you to enquire about your subject and the kind of portrait you would like, so that your finished piece is just right.
STORY OF AN ARTIST
My name is Manisha and I am an artist, specialising in faces and portraits. In particular, I enjoy capturing the personality of the subject with a focus on the light it creates in the eyes. I am a latecomer to the art world - after my science degree, my life changed when I developed an injury. I was stuck at home and unable to pursue my life as it was before. After a few frustrating years of struggling with my injury and the life it had left me with, I picked up a pencil and paper and started sketching. A few hours later, I had completed my first drawing and was surprised to see that it was really quite good!
I have been improving my skills ever since. I love that drawing gives me a creative outlet and I enjoy the satisfaction that I can put my all into a project – something I struggled with not being able to do post-injury. I thrive on my ‘attention to detail’ approach, taking my time to make a piece of art look realistic and to effecively capture the heart of a person’s character.
